Introduction
Hi, I'm Nisshi from nisshi-dev Workshop.
On February 7, 2026, I exhibited Real VR Nameplates as nisshi-dev Workshop at GENkaigi 2026 in Shibuya, a tech event held in Shibuya. I also helped out with the event by creating nameplates for the staff.
In this article, I'll report on the exhibition and event support from the day.
What is nisshi-dev Workshop?
nisshi-dev Workshop is a small booth run by a few of us under the concept of "a workshop connecting reality and the virtual world." We create and sell products like Real VR Nameplates that bridge the gap between VR spaces and the real world.
What is GENkaigi?
GENkaigi is a real-life event organized by "Engineer Shukai" (Engineer Meetup), a community of engineers who are primarily active in VRChat. Members who usually interact in VR spaces gather in person to share knowledge through lightning talks, exhibitions, and VR device demos.
It was previously held in Osaka in 2025, and this time it took place in Shibuya at GMO Yours Fukuras.
Exhibition
On the day, I exhibited the Real VR Nameplate — a physical item that lets you wear the nameplate displayed above your head in VR — along with a Web3D Configurator that lets you customize the design online.
I talked with visitors (roughly 20 people by my estimate) about topics like laser engraving, comparing base materials, and developing the Web3D Configurator.

Also, Nanonano, someone I often chat with in VRChat, brought a 360-degree camera (KANDAO QooCam 8K) that day, and I borrowed it to capture the area around our booth.
Since you can look around in 360 degrees, it really conveys the venue's atmosphere. (These were shot during the lightning talks, so there's almost nobody around the booths except exhibitors.)

Event Support
For this event, I created Real VR Nameplates for the GENkaigi staff.
Based on the regular Real VR Nameplate design, I crafted them with an orange theme to match the event's color scheme.
Many GENkaigi staff members are usually active in VR spaces like VRChat, so at real-life events, it can be hard to instantly recognize each other's faces.
Since the Real VR Nameplate recreates the VRChat nameplate, you can tell who someone is at a glance — which apparently helped with coordination among the staff as well.
Conclusion
That wraps up my report on exhibiting at and supporting GENkaigi 2026 in Shibuya.
Since this was an event where people who are usually active in VR spaces gather in real life, it was a great opportunity for them to experience the value of Real VR Nameplates firsthand.
Being a tech-focused event, many visitors were curious about the production process, and I had a blast discussing both the hardware and software sides.
This year, I'm planning to work on getting Real VR Nameplates out to even more people.
Huge thanks to the GENkaigi organizing staff, GMO Internet Group for providing the venue, and everyone who stopped by our booth!
